I really wanted to, but I got so hung up on some of the details that didn't ring true to me I had a hard time liking it. I think it is interesting your comparison of Edward to Sebastian from Brideshead.Thomas Hogglestockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14284352537015457974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5578764475698868093.post-34789097715647158512013-10-26T16:21:19.303-04:002013-10-26T16:21:19.303-04:00Thomas

If you have been a fan of Leavitt's, I'm curious what you will think of this one. I wasn't as unequivocally admiring of it, as I have been of a lot of his past work, but I'll read anything he writes because he has created an important body of work that resonates. Probably because he came of age at the same time I did, and his work reflects the issues of identity, both sexual and artistic, that I dealt with at the same time.

On a completely different note, you will be glad to know that I am finally popping my Pym cherry (sounds like something to drink!) with The Autumn Quartet for my next book club meeting.Tedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05511240514127283024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5578764475698868093.post-47755314830800055902013-10-26T13:26:16.477-04:002013-10-26T13:26:16.477-04:00I have read most of Leavitt's novels and I jus...I have read most of Leavitt's novels and I just picked this one up this week. Tempted to start it soon since I just finished another WWII book--the brilliant HHhH by Laurent Binet.Thomas Hogglestockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14284352537015457974noreply@blogger.com
