Got this from Matt over at his place - A Variety of Words. He further adapted this meme in a way I like. But what is this list - honestly!?! Where is Virginia Woolf, Iris Murdoch, Thomas Wolfe, Thomas Mann, Ernest Hemmingway, Ian McEwan, Tom Delillo, Charles Dickens, E. M. Forster, A. S. Byatt, Richard Powers... this is such a of-this-specific-moment-in-time, greatest hits kind of list.

but why not...

* Blue means I particularly enjoyed it,
* Red means I did not enjoy it)
* Italicize the ones you want to read
* Leave blank the ones that you neither want to read nor don’t want to read
* Strike the ones you have no desire to read
* If you are reading this, tag, you’re it!

You notice no red titles on my list, that's not because I'm shallow. It's because I won't waste time reading a book I do not enjoy. Why bother? There are so many good ones.
