Story of the day

Sheila posts some of her own writing today...well she's always posting her own writing, but this is her WRITING... a story called Enter Sandman. It is a relentless tumble down the page (screen), head on over and read it.

Thanks, hon. It was one of those posts where I truly hesitated before hitting "publish".

I'm glad you read it. And your comment about it - and your comment about "the voice" - is SO appreciated. It was deliberate on my part. I worked on the piece - it wasn't just off the cuff ... I realized that there was a connection between Metallica's song "Enter Sandman" - in all its heavy metal insane energy - and the undeniable fact of what happened to me after the birthday party ... that it was though a "sandman" had entered my life, and put me to sleep ... just to escape the pain of what I had lost.

And your comment on my blog also makes me think (and I am so glad you found it to be artistic, rather than confessional - a fine line, no??) - but anyway, it makes me think of the wonderful moment in Postcards From the Edge where Gene Hackman chuckles at her, fondly, "You want life to imitate art, don't you?" And she looks at him, openly, in tears, and says, "I don't want life to imitate art. I want life to BE art."

Me too.

Thank you, friend. For seeing that.
